Job summary

MiTek is seeking a Design Engineer IV to lead sealing design of truss components and repairs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role requires an active Professional Engineer license and strong knowledge of building codes, reporting to the Sr. Engineering Manager in the assigned office.

This hybrid position can be based at Chesterfield, MO; Mission Viejo, CA; Roseville, CA; or Tampa, FL, with a $15,000 sign-on bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required with PE/licensure path clearly shown.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and standards.
• Ability to read prints and schematics with geometry skills.
• Experience in mentoring EITs and junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Design truss components based on client specs and codes.
• Prepare design drawings or repairs for PE certification.
• Review EIT work for accuracy and adherence to seals.
• Mentor EITs and PEs in design practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally on complex problems.
• Help establish engineering policies using codes and standards.
• Discuss design modifications with customers as needed.
• Assist customers in troubleshooting design problems.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
