Job summary

MiTek is seeking an engineer to design truss components and field repairs for customers, applying engineering principles and building codes to protect public welfare. The role involves collaboration with engineers, architects, and officials, reviewing software outputs, and assisting customers with troubleshooting and design challenges.

Ideal candidates have a Civil/Structural or Mechanical engineering background, EIT credentials, and proficiency with math, prints, and office tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering required, preferably Civil/Structural or Mechanical
• Equivalent combination of experience and education may substitute on a year-for-year basis
• Ability to perform technical skills including algebra, trigonometry, geometry, calculus, physics, statistics, and strength of materials
• Ability to read and understand prints and schematics
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) - Any State Board preferred

Responsibilities

• Creatively design field repairs for truss components following engineering principles
• Design truss components from customer parameters using engineering knowledge and building codes; collaborate to protect public welfare
• Discuss design modifications and review methodologies with customers
• Assist, train and counsel customers in troubleshooting and design problems
• Review truss design software results for accuracy and collaborate with software team on functionality
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and building officials on customer projects
