MiTek Industries, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer IV to lead truss design and repairs, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards. The role requires licensure as a Professional Engineer and a strong background in Civil/Structural engineering with substantial design experience.

The position includes collaboration with PEs, mentorship of EITs, and a hybrid work schedule across multiple offices, including Mission Viejo, CA. A sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, Civil or Structural major preferred.
• Master's degree in Engineering preferred.
• 8+ years of industry and/or related design experience required with SE, or 10+ years with PE.
• Licensed Professional Engineer is required.
• Structural Engineering license or ability to obtain within 3 months of hiring date required.
• Ability to read and understand prints and schematics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.

Responsibilities

• Design truss components based on customer parameters, adhering to codes and collaborating with engineers to ensure public safety.
• Make corrections and prepare design drawings or repairs for PE certification.
• Review work by Engineers In Training for accuracy and seals.
• Mentor EITs and PEs.
• Work cross-functionally to assist with complex problems across different building materials.
• Contribute to engineering policy discussions with PEs and Engineering Manager, applying codes and standards.
• Discuss design modifications and reviews with customers.
• Assist customers in troubleshooting issues and design problems.
• Discuss projects with Supervisor or Engineers for compliance with company policies and procedures.
