Job summary

MiTek is seeking a Design Engineer IV to lead truss component sealing design and repairs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role requires an active PE license and a strong background in structural engineering, reporting to the Sr. Engineering Manager.

The position supports a hybrid schedule from our Chesterfield, MO, Mission Viejo, CA, Roseville, CA or Tampa, FL offices. A $15,000 Sign On Bonus is offered along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Engineering required, Civil or Structural preferred.
Master’s in Engineering preferred.
Licensed Professional Engineer is required.
Structural Engineering License or ability to obtain within 3 months of hiring date required.
Equivalent combination of experience and education may substitute on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

Design truss components based on customer specifications and applicable codes.
Prepare design drawings or repairs for PE review and certification.
Review work produced by Engineers In Training for accuracy and seals.
Mentor EITs and PEs.
Collaborate cross-functionally to solve complex problems with different building materials.
Contribute to engineering policy discussions and code interpretations with PEs and Manager.
Discuss design modifications with customers and select appropriate methodologies.
Assist customers in troubleshooting design issues.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
