Job summary
Sargent & Lundy in the United States seeks a senior structural engineer to apply expertise in materials behavior, structural analysis, steel design and reinforced concrete design to power-substation projects. You will develop calculations, create design documents and specifications as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The role involves client coordination, travel to client and vendor offices for reviews, field verifications, and occasional on-site work.
Qualifications
- BSCE or MSCE from ABET-approved program with strong materials/structural background.
- 12+ years of structural engineering experience, preferably in substations.
- Ability to communicate with clients and attend scoping meetings.
- Experience with calculations, design documentation, and code-based design.
Responsibilities
- Investigate, trouble-shoot, and solve structural engineering issues.
- Perform structural analysis and detailed design of steel frames, concrete members, equipment, and foundations.
- Develop integrated structural designs and supporting calculations.
- Interface with clients and communicate technical information.
- Prepare specifications for structural materials and review others' work.
