Job summary

Blue Origin is hiring a senior structural engineer to lead design and analysis of ground support equipment and test facilities. You will own the lifecycle from architecture to production, perform FEA and hand-calcs, and guide junior engineers while coordinating with external partners. Occasional travel is expected.

Candidates should have a BS in a relevant field and 5+ years of experience with large structural systems, ASME Y14.5, and Creo or similar CAD tools. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in structural, civil, mechanical, or aerospace engineering or similar.
• 5+ years designing, analyzing, and building large structural systems.
• Experience leading structural/ mechanical analysis with FEA tools (STAAD/ANSYS preferred).
• Experience with bolted/welded connections and as technical reviewer.
• Experience in concrete foundations and anchors; interpreting ASME Y14.5 standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of complex structural and mechanical ground systems for test facilities.
• Own lifecycle design and management of test stand integration tooling from concept to production.
• Provide FEA/hand-calcs and act as authority on analysis methods and results.
• Mentor junior engineers on analysis techniques and best practices.
• Lead external design/fabrication partners through all project phases; manage scopes, reviews, fabrication, installation, testing, and activation.
• Identify and resolve technical risks; travel may be required.
