Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced structural engineer to lead design and analysis of large ground systems and test stands for space vehicle facilities on Merritt Island, FL. You will own lifecycle design, perform FEA, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with external partners to meet safety and performance standards.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in engineering, 5+ years in large structural systems, proficiency with STAAD/ANSYS, Creo, ASME Y14.5, and U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in structural, civil, mechanical, or aerospace engineering (or similar).
• 5+ years of relevant design, analysis, and construction experience with large structural systems.
• Experience leading structural/ mechanical analysis using FEA tools (STAAD and ANSYS).
• Experience designing and analyzing bolted and welded connections; reviewer.
• Experience designing concrete foundations and anchors.
• Proficient in 3D CAD (Creo).
• Ability to interpret/apply ASME Y14.5 for tooling drawings.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop structural design solutions for complex ground systems.
• Own lifecycle design and management of test stand integration tooling.
• Provide FEA and hand-calcs for steel structures and fixtures.
• Mentor junior engineers in analysis techniques and standards.
• Lead external design and fabrication partners through lifecycle.
• Identify and drive resolution of technical risks.
• Occasional travel may be necessary.
