Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a seasoned engineer to lead the design and analysis of mechanical and structural ground systems and test facilities. You will own lifecycle tooling for test stands, define system requirements, and perform FEA/ hand calculations for steel structures, mentoring junior engineers along the way.

Occasional travel may be required. Applicants should have a BS in a relevant engineering field, 5+ years of experience, proficiency in Creo, STAAD/ANSYS, and a strong grasp of ASME

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in structural, civil, mechanical, or aerospace engineering (or similar).
• 5+ years designing large structural systems and related analysis.
• Experience with FEA tools (STAAD/ANSYS).
• Experience in bolted/welded connections design and review.
• Concrete foundations and anchors design/analysis.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (Creo).
• Ability to apply ASME Y14.5 drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural and mechanical design for complex ground systems and test facilities.
• Own lifecycle design and integration tooling for test stands, defining architecture and requirements.
• Provide FEA and hand-calcs for steel structures; act as technical authority on analyses.
• Mentor junior engineers in analysis techniques and standards.
• Manage external design and fabrication partners through all project phases.
