Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis of ground systems for space vehicle test facilities. You will own lifecycle design of test stand integration tooling, provide FEA and hand-calcs, and mentor junior engineers across multiple concurrent projects.

The role requires 5+ years in large structural systems and expertise with STAAD/ANSYS, Creo CAD, and ASME Y14.5 standards. Travel may be occasional.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in structural, civil, mechanical, or aerospace engineering (or similar).
5+ years in design, analysis, and construction of large structural systems.
Experience leading structural and mechanical analysis with FEA tools (STAAD/ANSYS).
Experience in bolted and welded connections design/review.
Experience in concrete foundations and anchors.
Proficient in 3D CAD (Creo preferred).
Ability to apply ASME Y14.5 drafting standards.
Demonstrated collaboration and inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

Lead structural design solutions for complex ground systems across multiple projects.
Own lifecycle design and management of test stand integration tooling from development to production.
Provide FEA and hand-calcs for steel structures and tooling fixtures; act as technical authority on analysis methods.
Mentor junior engineers in analysis techniques and best practices.
Lead external design and fabrication partners through project lifecycle; manage scopes, reviews, and installation.
