Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Structural Engineering Professional to join our design team in the United States. You will perform substantial structural analysis and design, collaborating with the Structural Lead and other disciplines to develop concepts, complete analyses, and communicate requirements on design documents and in the model.

You will apply fundamentals of structural engineering, work with IBC/ASCE 7/ACI/AISC codes, and may lead medium-sized projects or support larger programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Professional Engineer license (PE/PEng) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of structural engineering experience.
• Proficient with US building codes: IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC.
• Proficient with Navisworks and Bluebeam; structural software.
• Experience designing steel and concrete structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform conventional structural analysis and design with minimal supervision.
• Plan and conduct work requiring independent evaluation of techniques and criteria.
• Apply wind and seismic design provisions per code.
• Maintain high standards of quality control and thorough self-checks.
• Lead structural scope on medium-sized projects or support larger projects.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to designers/drafters and junior engineers.
• Identify scope changes and escalate to Structural Lead or Project Manager.
