Job summary

Westwood Professional Services in the United States is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to support the renewable energy team. You will design foundations and supporting structures for utility-scale wind, solar, and transmission projects, develop reports, and review submittals to ensure quality and compliance.

The role requires an ABET-accredited civil/structural engineering degree, PE/EIT or FE is preferred, and a minimum of two years of experience with ASTM/IBC/ASCE 7 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering from an ABET accredited college.
• EIT/FE or PE required, S.E. registration a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of structural engineering work experience.
• Familiar with applicable codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318).
• Knowledge of foundations, including spread footings, slab-on-grade, piles and caissons; connection/anchorage design.
• Familiar with steel member design (wide flange, channel, pipe, plate, angle).
• MS Office proficiency; strong verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency with structural software (Mathcad, STAAD, RISA, Enercalc, LPile) is a plus.
• AutoCAD drafting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for structural design of foundations and ancillary structures for utility-scale wind, solar, transmission line, and substation projects.
• Prepares or directs the structural design reports, specifications, and plans.
• Review and approve project submittals, RFIs and support field activities during construction.
• Provide professional and technical support to multiple Westwood projects.
• Day-to-day support and input to internal and external Project Managers.
