Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Denver, CO is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our renewable energy team, focusing on foundations and substructures for wind, solar, and transmission projects.

The role requires a ABET degree, PE/EIT, 2+ years in structural engineering, and knowledge of IBC/ASCE7/AISC/ACI 318. Proficiency with design tools and AutoCAD is a plus. Westwood supports career growth and client-focused project delivery.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering.
EIT/FE or PE license required; SE registration a plus.
Minimum 2 years structural engineering experience.
Familiar with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318.
Knowledge of foundations and anchorage design (spread footings, piles, caissons; cast-in-place, post-installed, welds, high-strength bolts).
Familiar with steel member design (wide flange, channel, pipe, plate, angle).
Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel).
Structural software: Mathcad, STAAD, RISA, Enercalc, LPile.
AutoCAD drafting experience is a plus.
Strong communication and attention to detail; time management.

Responsibilities

Design foundations and ancillary structures for wind, solar, transmission, substations.
Prepare design reports, specifications, and plans.
Review submittals, RFIs, and support field construction.
Provide technical support across multiple Westwood projects.
Assist project managers and coordinate tasks.
