Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our renewable energy team.

You will design foundations and ancillary structures for utility-scale wind, solar, transmission lines, and substations, and prepare or direct design reports, specs and plans. The ideal candidate holds a civil/structural engineering degree from an ABET-accredited college, has 2+ years of structural experience, and EIT/FE or PE is required; SE registration is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering from ABET-accredited college.
• EIT/FE or PE required; SE registration a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of structural engineering work experience.
• Familiar with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318.
• Knowledge of foundations, connections and anchorage design.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Experience with structural engineering software Mathcad, STAAD, RISA, Enercalc, LPile is a plus.
• Bridge design and evaluation knowledge a plus.
• Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Detail-oriented with good time-management and engineering judgment.

Responsibilities

• Structural design of foundations and ancillary structures for utility-scale wind, solar, transmission line, and substation projects.
• Prepares or directs the structural design reports, specifications, and plans.
• Review and approves project submittals, RFIs and supports field activities during construction.
• Provide professional and technical support to multiple Westwood projects.
• Day-to-day support and input to internal and external Project Managers.
