Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Structural Project Engineer to join our Renewables team. You will design foundations and retaining walls for utility-scale wind, solar and storage facilities, and support project managers in drafting reports and plans.

Requires a Bachelor's in civil/structural engineering and a PE license; SE registration is a plus. 3+ years of related experience and knowledge of ASCE loading are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering is required.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) is required, SE registration is a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of related work experience.
• Familiar with ASCE loading calculations.
• Experience with foundations design (shallow footings, slab-on-grade, deep foundations).
• Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Proficient with structural engineering software such as RISA; AutoCAD drafting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design foundations and retaining walls for utility-scale wind, battery storage and solar facilities.
• Prepare or direct structural design reports, specifications, and plans.
• Assist Project Managers in drafting and design of utility-scale solar projects.
• Provide day-to-day input and support to Project Managers.
