Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our renewable energy team.

This role focuses on the structural design of foundations and ancillary structures for utility-scale wind, solar, transmission lines, and substations, with responsibilities spanning reports, specs, and field support. The ideal candidate has a civil/structural engineering degree (ABET-accredited) with EIT/FE or PE, at least 2 years of experience, and familiarity with IBC/ASCE 7/AISC

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil/structural engineering degree required.
• EIT/FE or PE required; S.E. registration a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of structural engineering experience.
• Familiar with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318.
• Knowledge of foundations (footings, slab-on-grade, piles, caissons).
• Knowledge of steel members (wide flange, channel, pipe, plate, angle).
• MS Office proficiency; structural software experience preferred.
• AutoCAD drafting experience a plus.
• Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
• Ability to manage time and workload with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design of foundations and ancillary structures for wind, solar, transmission line, and substation projects.
• Prepare or direct structural design reports, specifications, and plans.
• Review and approve submittals, RFIs, and support field activities during construction.
• Provide professional and technical support to multiple Westwood projects.
• Day-to-day input to internal and external Project Managers.
