Job summary

Tetra Tech, Inc. is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our High Performance Building division. The role involves leading structural design across multiple construction types and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, including on-site reviews.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of experience, a PE license, and strong proficiency in RISA/SAP2000 and Revit. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are available along with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience in building/facility design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience in seismic analysis and design of buildings.
• Strong knowledge of steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundation systems.
• Experience with RISA 3D, SAP2000, or similar software.
• Experience developing/reviewing models and construction documents using Revit; Bluebeam proficiency.
• Proficiency with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360/341, TMS 402/602.
• Ability to lead projects, provide direction, and communicate effectively.
• Willingness to travel ~5% and must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural design and analysis of building projects.
• Lead structural design for new construction, renovations, and modifications.
• Develop structural systems for steel, concrete, masonry, and foundations.
• Perform and review gravity, wind, and seismic design calculations.
• Perform seismic design in accordance with ASCE 7 and codes.
• Deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specs, and reports.
• Coordinate with architecture, civil, geotechnical, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
• Oversee design concepts using Revit and BIM tools.
