Job summary

Tetra Tech’s High Performance Building division is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will work on challenging projects across a wide range of construction types, collaborating with the project team to deliver structural design for buildings and facilities.

The successful candidate will have 10+ years of structural experience, a PE license, and strong skills in Revit, RISA/SAP2000, and seismic design.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
10+ years of structural engineering experience in building/facility design.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Experience in seismic analysis and design of buildings.
Experience with structural steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation systems.
Experience with structural analysis/design software (RISA 3D, SAP2000).
Experience developing/reviewing structural models and construction documents using Revit; Bluebeam proficiency.
Knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360/341, and TMS 402/602.
Ability to independently develop structural systems and provide technical direction.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to travel; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Manage structural design and analysis of building projects.
Lead design for new construction, renovations, additions, and modifications.
Develop structural systems for steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and foundations.
Perform and review calculations including gravity, wind, and seismic.
Perform seismic design per ASCE 7 and applicable codes.
Deliver projects on schedule and within budgets.
Provide mentorship to junior/mid-level engineers.
Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, narratives, and reports.
Conduct structural condition assessments and reports.
Coordinate with architectural, civil, geotechnical, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
Delegate duties and oversee multidisciplinary teams.
Develop design concepts and define systems using Revit and BIM tools.
Design per IBC/ASCE/ACI/AISC/UFC.
Use structural analysis tools like RISA and others.
