Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Project Lead Structural Engineer to guide a team of structural engineers, interface with clients, and manage a variety of challenging projects in structural engineering. The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines and advancing career development.

You will apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel and concrete design, and supervise the creation of design calculations, specifications, and reports. Travel to sites for reviews is expected.

Qualifications

• BSCE or MSCE from an ABET-accredited program.
• Ten+ years of experience on design/analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear facility structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Proficiency with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Guide a team of structural engineers, interface with clients and other disciplines.
• Direct preparation and review of design calculations, specifications, reports and drawings.
• Supervise and mentor others in delivering quality engineering deliverables.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, concrete members, and foundations.
• Travel to client and vendor sites for design reviews and field verification.
