Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead design engineer to guide a structural engineering team on nuclear facilities and upgrades. You will interface with multidisciplinary engineers and clients, mentor staff, and oversee design calculations, specifications, and drawing development.

You will also lead structural analysis for steel frames, concrete members, and foundations, with occasional travel for reviews and field verification.

Qualifications

• Essential: 12+ years in design/analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear facility structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, ANSYS).
• Proficiency with design codes such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• PE or SE license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a structural engineering team on nuclear facility projects.
• Guide design calculations, develop specifications, and coordinate with designers for drawings.
• Interface with multiple engineers and clients; lead design reviews.
• Possibly travel to client/vendor offices or plant sites for coordination and verification.
