Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in the United States is seeking a senior structural engineer to lead design on nuclear facilities and upgrades. You will guide junior team members, collaborate with other disciplines, and develop engineering deliverables using modern tools.

Responsibilities include performing steel and concrete design, reviewing calculations, and coordinating with clients. Travel to site or vendor offices is possible to support design reviews and field verification.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree required with structural emphasis.
• Seven+ years of experience in design and analysis of structures on project teams.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS).
• Familiarity with design codes ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design on nuclear facilities and upgrades, guiding junior engineers.
• Prepare and review calculations, develop specifications, and support drawings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver engineering deliverables.
• Travel to client sites or plant locations for design reviews as needed.
