Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Group in the United States. You will collaborate with a team of structural engineers, guide less experienced staff, and contribute to the design and upgrades of nuclear facilities.

Responsibilities include applying materials knowledge, performing structural analysis for steel and concrete members, and reviewing calculations with clients and designers. Travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• We must have a BS in Civil Engineering with an ABET-accredited program.
• Seven or more years of experience on design and analysis of structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Proficiency with ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI design codes.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
• Work on varied projects for clients; prepare/review design calculations, develop specifications, and guide designers.
• Use state-of-the-art tools to analyze and design steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations.
• Travel to client/vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews and construction coordination.
