Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to support onsite/remote hybrid work at the Duane Arnold Energy Center. You will lead design and analysis activities for nuclear facility projects, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and guiding junior engineers.

Responsibilities include calculations, specifications, and drawing development using advanced tools. Travel to client sites is possible for reviews and coordination as needed.

Qualifications

BS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Five or more years of experience working as a member of a project team in the design and analysis of structures
Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS
Proficiency with design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI
Good written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

Collaborate with a team of structural engineers and interface with other disciplines
Guide the work of less experienced project team members
Prepare and review design calculations, develop specifications, and support drawing development
Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations
