Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior structural engineer in a hybrid role based in the United States. You will collaborate with a team of structural engineers, interface with other disciplines, and guide less experienced team members on projects for nuclear facilities and upgrades.

Responsibilities include applying materials knowledge, performing design and analysis, and supporting designers with drawings. Opportunities travel for reviews and field verifications are possible.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Five or more years of experience on a project team for design and analysis of structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, ANSYS).
• Proficiency with codes and standards (ASCE 7, AISC, ACI).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, and reinforced concrete/steel design.
• Lead design calculations, specifications, and drawing development with support from designers.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations using state-of-the-art tools.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for reviews and field verification as needed.
