Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a skilled structural engineer to contribute to design and analysis of safety-related structures for nuclear facilities. You will collaborate with a team of engineers, develop designs, and ensure compliance with codes and project controls.

The role involves leading design deliverables, using modern engineering tools, and interfacing with clients. A hybrid work arrangement is offered with three days in the office and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• MS degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Five or more years in a project team for design and analysis of structures.
• Proficiency with SAP2000, STRUDL, SASSI, ANSYS or LS-DYNA.
• Knowledge of ASCE 4, ASCE 43, ASCE 7, AISC & ACI codes.
• Experience with blast loads and UFC 3-340-02 guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical liaison on projects and provide design direction.
• Collaborate with structural engineers and other disciplines to meet deliverables.
• Prepare design calculations and development specifications.
• Perform structural analysis under seismic and other loading conditions.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for reviews and field verification when needed.
