Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a senior structural engineer to join our Nuclear Power Group. You will lead a structural team on design, analysis, and verification for new facilities and upgrades, coordinating with other disciplines and guiding junior engineers.

You will apply knowledge of materials, steel/concrete design, and seismic/wind loads, and contribute to design calculations, specs, and drawings. Hybrid work requires in-office presence three days per week.

Qualifications

• BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of experience as a member of a project team in design and analysis of structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI design codes and standards.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications and strong written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis on nuclear facility projects.
• Direct and guide the work of less experienced project team members.
• Prepare and review design calculations, develop specifications, and support drawing development.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations.
