Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior structural engineer to join our Nuclear Power Group in a hybrid role. You will lead a team on design and analysis for nuclear facilities, interface with other disciplines, and guide junior engineers.

You will apply your knowledge of materials, steel and concrete design, and perform calculations, develop specifications, and support drawings. Occasional travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Structural/Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of experience on project teams in design and analysis of structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL or ANSYS).
• Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
• Proficiency with MS Office; strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design calculations and develop specifications.
• Support designers with drawing development.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, supports, and foundations.
• Analyze loading conditions including wind and seismic.
• Travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and plant site coordination.
