Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is hiring an entry-level structural engineer to join the Nuclear Power Group in the United States. You will apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel design, and reinforced concrete to a variety of projects for clients in the nuclear sector.

You will collaborate with engineers and designers, prepare design calculations, develop specifications, and support drawing development while using state-of-the-art tools to analyze steel frames, connections, and foundations,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural/Civil or Architectural Engineering with strong materials and design knowledge.
• Loads analysis for structural supports and design integrity.
• Apply structural engineering principles to project designs.
• Familiarity with design techniques for drawings and models.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design calculations and develop specifications.
• Support designers with drawing development.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, supports, and foundations.
• Conduct analyses including wind and seismic loading.
