Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Structural Engineering Professional in the NE US region to perform substantial structural analysis and design for diverse facilities. You will develop design concepts, complete analysis and design, and coordinate with designers to translate requirements into paper and model representations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer License (PE or PEng)
• At least 10 years of Structural Engineering experience
• Experience with US building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC
• Experience with structural engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam
• Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• MS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or MS degree in Structural Engineering
• Structural Engineer (SE) license
• Experience in semiconductor industrial or general industrial facilities
• Experience leading medium teams

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, competently perform all conventional aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design.
• Plan and conduct work requiring judgement in independent evaluation and adaptation of engineering techniques.
• Exercise sound engineering judgement and problem-solving skills.
• Possess knowledge of principles and practices of lateral analysis and design (wind and seismic) and building code provisions.
• Check your own work and review peers' work for quality control.
• Take responsibility for workload, meet schedule, budget and quality requirements.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to designers/drafters and less experienced engineers.
• Develop leadership skills and advance workflows, systems, and tools within structural discipline.
