Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Structural Engineering Professional for the NE Region to perform structural analysis and design for diverse projects. You will collaborate with the Structural Lead and other disciplines, developing concepts, performing design, and communicating requirements for paper and model delivery.

The role requires a solid foundation in structural engineering, knowledge of US building codes, and the ability to lead portions of projects and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer License (PE or PEng).
• At least 10 years of Structural Engineering experience.
• Experience with US building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC.
• Experience with Structural Engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam.
• Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, competently perform all conventional aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design.
• Plan and conduct work requiring judgement in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Apply wind and seismic provisions of the building code in designs.
• Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control, checking your own work and seeking guidance when needed.
• Take responsibility for workload, meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Develop leadership skills by providing technical guidance and mentorship to designers/drafters and less experienced engineers.
