Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Structural Engineering Professional to join the design team. You will perform structural analysis and design, working closely with the Structural Lead and other disciplines to develop concepts, run analyses, and produce design documents and models.

The role requires a solid foundation in structural engineering fundamentals, experience with US building codes, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineer License (PE/PEng).
Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering.
Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC.
Experience with Structural Engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, competently perform all conventional aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design.
Plan and conduct work requiring judgement in evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques.
Exercise sound engineering judgement and problem-solving skills.
Develop design concepts, complete analysis and design, and communicate structural requirements in design documents and models.
Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to designers/drafters and less experienced engineers.
