Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior structural engineer to lead analysis and design of Lunar Core Components, including radiators and heat exchangers. You will translate loads into robust hardware, drive trade studies, and mentor junior engineers while delivering flight-qualified components for lunar vehicles.

Position requires hands-on Creo modeling, FEA methods, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure manufacturability and reliability for spaceflight operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 6+ years of related experience.
• Experience with launch vehicles, spacecraft, or similar structures.
• Strong fundamentals in structural design, analysis, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).

Responsibilities

• Interpret loads and derive requirements for secondary structures and interfacing hardware.
• Lead trade studies to ensure structural integrity and optimal design.
• Design, analyze, and test secondary structures including additive parts and composites.
• Collaborate with thermal engineers to ensure structural compatibility and thermal adequacy.
• Create 3D models, parts drawings, assemblies, and interface control documents.
• Coordinate structural interfaces with other subsystems and provide on-site support.
