Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a lead Structural Engineer in Oak Ridge, TN, offering a hybrid work arrangement with remote and in-office work. The role involves leading design efforts, producing calculations, drawings, and specifications for multi-disciplinary projects, and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements include US citizenship and the ability to obtain clearance, ABET-accredited BSSE/MSSE, and 12+ years of structural engineering experience, with travel to project locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen; able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• 12+ years of progressively responsible experience in structural engineering.
• ABET-accredited BSSE or MSSE degree or similar.
• Travel to project locations for client meetings, walk-downs and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team.
• Produce engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings, specifications, and engineering reports.
• Apply civil/structural engineering to design and qualification of structures, systems, and components.
• Produce Procurement and Construction Specifications (Structural sections).
• Monitor the work of assigned staff and manage tasks within schedule and budget.
• Attend project meetings and conduct field walkdowns; mentor junior engineers.
