Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in New York, NY to lead large, complex building projects as a project manager or lead engineer. You will oversee analysis, design, and implementation within budgets, mentoring staff and collaborating across disciplines in the New York metro area.

You will drive structural solutions for commercial and institutional facilities, ensuring code compliance, staying current with industry trends, and delivering sustainable design aligned with SE2050 goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
• Structural Engineer (SE) License and/or passed the Structural Engineer (SE) Exam required.
• 10 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, and client-relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural-system analysis and design efforts, developing detailed designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards.
• Perform site assessments and prepare detailed analyses and technical reports.
• Work with clients to understand needs, gather requirements, communicate technical information, and maintain professional relationships.
• Conduct in-process design reviews and implement quality control processes for structural designs, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence.
• Provide technical training and mentoring and assist in resolving field issues with minimal support from senior staff.
