Sargent & Lundy in Knoxville, TN is seeking a lead structural engineer to guide a team on nuclear facility projects. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the Knoxville office and two days remote, and provides opportunities to interface with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

You will apply expertise in materials, structural analysis, steel and concrete design, mentor engineers, and travel for design reviews and field verification as needed.

Qualifications

• BSCE with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 12+ years of experience on design and analysis of industrial/heavy commercial or nuclear facility structures.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS).
• Proficiency with design codes (ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI).
• PE or SE license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a structural engineering team on nuclear facility projects.
• Guide design team; interface with engineers from other disciplines and with clients.
• Prepare, review, or guide structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, and foundations.
• Travel to client and vendor offices or plant sites for design reviews and field verification when needed.
