Job summary

RTX in Tucson, Arizona is seeking a senior structural analyst to lead the MA&T team on mechanical engineering challenges for missiles, radar, and combat system equipment. Active DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

The role emphasizes leadership of engineering teams, performing hand calculations, detailed analyses, and peer reviews, and delivering results to internal and external customers onsite.

Qualifications

• Typically requires Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics and 8+ years of experience OR in absence of a degree, 12 years of experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience
• 8 years of structural analysis experience
• Experience in leadership of engineering teams driving technical and cost performance
• Experience in structural dynamic analysis using PATRAN/NASTRAN or ANSYS
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical leader (help define/refine and/or develop MA&T department technical processes and tools) and/or lead analysis/test teams
• Support staffing requests to ensure all programs are staffed the appropriate personnel.
• Engage with team members to discuss performance and career development
• Assist with proposal preparation including estimating the scope of new engineering projects.
• Perform Hand Calculations to determine scope of higher detail analysis models
• Perform detailed analysis to solve diverse program structural challenges
• Perform peer reviews of all analysis to validate process and results
• Document results according to Raytheon ME standards
• Deliver results to customers (internal and external)
