Job summary

Raytheon is seeking an early career Structural Engineer to join the Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Department in Tucson, AZ. In this onsite role, you will work on products from initial design studies through qualification testing to production support.

You’ll join a team of 200+ engineers and engage in classical stress analyses and cutting-edge methods, with opportunities for field test support at locations around the world.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience; alternatively an advanced degree can substitute for 2 years.
• Experience in structural analysis with PATRAN, NASTRAN, ANSYS, ABAQUS or equivalent software.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses to support all phases of programs.
• Generate test plans required to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to customer requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate models and generate mechanical loads and environments.
• Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews.
• Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Generate archival technical reports.
• Travel to test sites to support test or design discussion.
