Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join the Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) team in Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on detailed structural analysis for development and production, using finite element methods and industry tools, with opportunity to lead technical reviews and mentor others onsite.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree, 5+ years of experience in structural analysis for complex systems, and proficiency with PATRAN/NASTRAN/ANSYS. U.S. security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required.
• Experience in structural analysis for defense programs preferred.
• Strong background in finite element methods and CAD/CAE tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analyses to support all phases of programs
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance
• Analyze test data to validate models and generate mechanical loads
• Lead technical peer reviews and present results to stakeholders
• Generate detailed archival technical reports
• Travel to test sites as needed
• Act as technical leader to develop MA&T processes and tools
