Job summary

HP is seeking a senior strategy professional to lead analyses of market trends, customer needs, and competitive shifts to shape multi-year plans for Personal Systems. You will develop 1–5 year strategies, build data-driven business cases, and craft executive-ready narratives for senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
• Typically 8–10+ years of experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning, business strategy, management consulting, product strategy, or related field.
• Experience in top-tier consulting, corporate strategy, or similarly rigorous strategy environment is highly desirable.
• Experience developing strategic recommendations, business cases, and executive communications for senior leaders.
• Experience working in technology, hardware, software, services, or adjacent industries is preferred.
• Exceptional analytical thinking, structured problem solving, and hypothesis-driven decision-making skills.
• Strong business acumen and ability to assess markets, competitive dynamics, customer needs, and business model implications.
• Strong project/program management and prioritization skills.
• Ability to manage multiple high-visibility workstreams independently.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate across senior stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and global partners.
• Experience building financial models, business cases, forecasts, and scenario analyses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready presentations and narratives.
• Curiosity, learning agility, comfort with evolving priorities, sound judgment, and high ownership.
• Ability to connect technology, customer, and market trends to strategic choices.
• Must be based at Palo Alto, California or Spring, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic analyses identifying market trends, customer needs, competitive shifts, and emerging opportunities for Personal Systems.
• Develop 1–5 year strategy recommendations covering where to play, how to win, growth priorities, and ecosystem partnerships.
• Build data-driven business cases, long-term plans, and investment theses for portfolio, product, and business decisions.
• Structure analytical approaches, hypothesis trees, project plans, and executive-ready storylines for complex business problems.
• Synthesize market research, financial analysis, and internal data into recommendations for senior leaders.
• Evaluate strategic initiatives involving AI PCs, future-of-work experiences, services, software, ecosystem partnerships, and new growth opportunities.
• Drive alignment across business, product, finance, and regional teams to translate strategic priorities into actionable plans.
• Consult with business executives on strategic planning, risk management, business performance, and innovation.
• Collaborate with the Strategy and Planning team to pressure test ideas and build holistic recommendations.
• Work with executive leaders, business teams, product teams, finance, and cross-functional partners at HP.
