Sun Life U.S. is seeking a Senior Manager, Stop Loss Underwriting to lead a multi-site team of Manual Underwriters, manage workloads, and drive high performance. You will hire, coach, set expectations and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines while collaborating with Underwriting and Sales leaders to align with objectives.

The role offers a hybrid work model across the contiguous states plus AK, with a competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Medical Stop Loss industry or business operations.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to partner with Underwriting, Sales, and other stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Medical Stop Loss manual underwriting team.
• Collaborate with senior Underwriting and Sales leaders to align with objectives and guidelines.
• Lead interviewing, selection, and onboarding of Manual Underwriters and temporary staff.
• Provide training, coaching, and mentoring for new hires and temps; update policies as needed.
• Implement underwriting process improvements identified through Quality Control reviews.
• Build a high-performing, engaged team; recognize success and address performance issues.
• Promote compliant, efficient underwriting practices across the team.
• Support Training & Development to strengthen underwriting knowledge and career growth.
