Job summary

Sun Life U.S. is seeking a Senior Manager, Stop Loss Underwriting to lead a multi-site team of Manual Underwriters, manage workloads, and drive performance aligned with underwriting guidelines.

You will hire, train, and coach underwriters, implement process improvements, and collaborate with senior leaders to meet business objectives. This role supports a hybrid work model across the contiguous states plus AK.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Medical Stop Loss or related operations field.
• Experience leading, supervising, mentoring, or serving as a technical lead for an operations team highly preferred.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills across underwriting, sales and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Medical Stop Loss manual underwriting team and manage workloads.
• Collaborate with senior Underwriting and Sales leaders to align work with objectives and guidelines.
• Lead interviewing, selection, and onboarding of Manual Underwriters and temporary staff.
