Sun Life U.S. seeks a Senior Manager to lead a multi-site Medical Stop Loss underwriting team, overseeing workloads, rushes, and partner expectations. You will hire, coach, and develop talent, driving high performance and adherence to guidelines.

You will partner with Underwriting and Sales leaders to align work with objectives, implement improvements, and promote compliant practices across the unit.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Medical Stop Loss or related operations.
• Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring an operations team.
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Medical Stop Loss underwriting team operations and workloads.
• Collaborate with senior Underwriting and Sales leaders to align with business goals.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance coaching for staff.
• Implement process improvements identified via quality reviews.
• Build a high-performing, engaged team with clear expectations and development plans.
• Ensure compliant, efficient underwriting practices across the team.
• Support ongoing training to strengthen underwriting knowledge and capability.
• Develop independent decision-making by underwriters within guidelines.
