Rula is hiring a Sr. Staff Engineer – Applied AI, Patient to help Patient Engineering build and scale AI/ML-powered patient experiences across matching, ranking, recommendations, onboarding, and personalization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software and/or ML engineering experience with production ML systems.
• Deep ML lifecycle expertise and technical leadership across teams.
• Experience building shared ML infrastructure and reusable capabilities.
• Experience with recommendation, ranking, personalization, or matching systems.
• Hands-on experience with modern foundation model/GenAI systems in production.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve production ML models and AI-powered systems.
• Build reusable capabilities and partner with the ML team on shared infrastructure.
• Guide architectural decisions and mentor senior engineers across teams.
• Determine problem-solving approaches (custom ML, foundation models, or hybrids).
• Enable faster, higher‑quality delivery of AI/ML-powered patient experiences.
