Job summary

Rula is a remote-first company hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join the Patient Onboarding team. You will be a hands-on technical leader, writing code while guiding complex initiatives across product areas to improve the patient journey from initial contact through care initiation.

You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Analytics, shaping engineering practices, and enabling rapid delivery of reliable, AI-enabled features across our patient experience platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including Staff-level scope or leading complex initiatives across multiple teams or systems.
• Strong full-stack experience building and maintaining production web applications, with depth in frontend, backend, data modeling and distributed systems.
• Experience leading technically complex projects from problem definition through design, implementation, launch and production support.
• Experience working on high-impact user journeys such as onboarding, checkout, registration, eligibility, payments, or other conversion‑critical workflows.
• Influencing technical direction across functions or teams, communicating tradeoffs and aligning with Product, Design, Data, or other teams.
• Hands‑on experience using AI‑assisted software development tools as part of regular engineering workflows.
