Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer on the Core Automation team to architect and build Agentic AI systems that automate customer support and compliance at scale. You will own the technical vision for production AI systems that improve user experience and efficiency, while partnering with product, compliance, and operations.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration, drive the move from prototype to production, and mentor engineers across the team on best practices in AI/ML

Qualifications

• 12+ years of backend software engineering with Golang or similar systems language.
• Strong track record shipping LLM/Agentic AI applications to production with measurable improvements.
• Experience designing distributed systems handling large scale and ambiguous problems.
• Ability to partner with compliance, operations, and customer support to define requirements.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and guiding technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and implementation of Agentic AI systems powering Coinbase's customer support and compliance automation.
• Architect a reusable platform of primitives, orchestration tools, and interfaces for other teams.
• Drive cross-functional alignment to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
• Lead strategy for getting LLM-based apps from prototype to production with reliability at scale.
• Mentor engineers on system design, coding standards, and AI/ML best practices.
