Job summary
Penn Mutual seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and advance reliability across critical systems in a regulated financial services environment. This hands-on leader drives automation, observability and architectural guidance while remaining active in development, release, and incident triage.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 6–10+ years of experience in SRE, software engineering, platform, or DevOps roles.
- Proven experience with root cause analysis on incidents and documenting SRE systems.
- Strong programming skills with multiple languages.
- Deep experience with AWS and distributed systems.
- Observability, ITSM, and reliability engineering principles.
- Ability to operate in complex, regulated environments.
- Experience with observability tools (metrics, logs, tracing) and CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead reliability strategy, architecture, SLOs/SLIs, and error budgets.
- Act as technical lead during major incidents and outages; drive RCAs.
- Design and implement automation to reduce operational toil.
- Partner with Release and Change Management for automated releases.
- Mentor junior SREs and engineers to raise engineering rigor.
