Job summary

Penn Mutual is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer (Internal Title: Senior Site Reliability Engineer) to evolve reliability across critical systems in a highly regulated financial services environment.

This hands-on technical leader will design, implement, and advance reliability through automation, observability, and architectural guidance while contributing to development, release, and incident triage.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years in SRE, software engineering, platform, or DevOps roles.
• Strong root-cause analysis and incident documentation experience.
• Hands-on in reliability practices across distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS and modern observability stacks.
• Familiarity with regulated environments and ITSM.

Responsibilities

• Lead reliability strategy, define SLOs/SLIs and error budgets.
• Own advanced incident management and RCA actions.
• Improve CI/CD, deployment, and rollback strategies.
• Mentor junior SREs and influence culture across teams.
• Ensure compliance while maintaining velocity.
