Job summary

Releady is partnering with a leading healthcare technology company to establish a hands-on Principal Site Reliability Engineer role. You will lead the first full observability rollout, fix root causes in product code, and design a rotation model to spread reliability mindset across teams.

This role balances hands-on coding with governance, leveraging OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana, and shaping incident response and AI-assisted resiliency initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proven technical leadership across multiple engineering teams.
• Strong coding in Python, TypeScript or Node.js with reliability fixes.
• Hands-on with observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience with Terraform-based CI/CD and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Ability to drive adoption of new reliability standards.

Responsibilities

• Establish SRE framework, production standards, SLOs and error budgets.
• Design rotation model for engineers into the SRE function.
• Instrument product observability across availability, throughput and quality.
• Identify root causes in product code and push fixes via PRs.
• Recommend open-source observability and self-healing tooling.
• Set incident response practices and post-incident learning.
• Roadmap automated investigation/remediation and AI-assisted PRs.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with security teams.
