Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer Lead to advance our hardware, infrastructure, and virtualization initiatives.

You will shape reliable compute platforms, mentor teammates, and collaborate with global engineering groups to deliver scalable solutions. In this role you’ll own design and automation of system software, contribute to Linux kernel and KVM layers, participate in on-call rotations, and help ensure high availability across Akamai’s datacenters

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in site reliability or similar engineering roles.
• Strong understanding of Linux internals, kernel, and virtualization.
• Experience designing scalable software and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, test, and distribute changes to software and tools for hardware platforms delivered by the HIVE team.
• Enhance HIVE observability infrastructure to identify and prevent problems before impact.
• Mentor team members and develop subject matter expertise in HIVE components.
