Job summary
Akamai Technologies GmbH in Cambridge, MA invites a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer Lead to join our remote-capable team supporting Akamai's Compute products. You will architect and deploy changes to software, services, and hardware-enabled platforms, leading a skilled multi-national team across on-call rotations.
Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of experience, deep Linux kernel and virtualization expertise (KVM/QEMU, ARM) and hands-on automation with SaltStack and Ansible, to scale our edge
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in a senior engineering or SRE role.
- Deep understanding of hardware and Linux features for ARM, including NVIDIA Grace.
- Advanced Linux kernel, OS, KVM/QEMU, and nested virtualization knowledge.
- Experience designing, developing and deploying software and infrastructure at scale.
Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, test, and distribute changes to software and services for HIVE hardware platforms.
- Enhance HIVE observability to detect and fix problems before impacting customers.
- Mentor team members and build SME knowledge of HIVE components.
- Automate infrastructure and processes; collaborate across support, operations, and engineering.
- Participate in on-call rotations and guide restoration of service-impacting issues.
