Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Site Reliability Engineer Lead to architect, develop, and deploy scalable infrastructure for HIVE-based hardware platforms and cloud hypervisor technologies. You will mentor the team and drive observability enhancements to prevent issues before customers are affected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in computer science or related field.
• Deep understanding of hardware and Linux best practices for enabling advanced hardware features on ARM architectures (e.g., NVIDIA Grace).
• Advanced experience with the Linux kernel, OS, KVM/QEMU, and nested virtualization.
• Expert level experience designing, developing, and deploying software and infrastructure at scale.
• Advanced DevOps/SysAdmin experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with SaltStack and Ansible for managing infrastructure at scale.

Responsibilities

• Architecting, developing, testing, and distributing changes to software, services, and tools to enable hardware platforms delivered by the HIVE team.
• Designing and implementing enhancements to HIVE observability infrastructure to identify and correct problems before they impact customers
• Developing subject matter expertise in HIVE components and mentoring the team.
• Identifying and implementing automation best practices for existing products and processes.
• Collaborating with support, operations and engineering teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex problems.
• Participating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues.
